Things You'll Need:
- Jasmine seedling
- Gardening gloves
- Garden rake
- Shovel
- Slow-release fertilizer for flowering shrubs
- Stake
- Cloth strips

Step 1
Select a location near the roses to plant the jasmine. Rake the ground covering and mulch from the area. Pull up any weeds and clean the area.

Put a stake several inches from where you want to plant the jasmine. Be certain the stake is secure by slightly moving it back and forth. If it wiggles, place the stake deeper in the ground.

Dig a hole beside the stake that is 6 inches deeper than the height of the root ball on the jasmine plant .

Use your hand to break apart and crumble the a portion of the dirt you gathered while making the hole. Fill the hole with 2 inches of the loose dirt.

Remove any packaging from jasmine root ball. Lift the jasmine by the middle of the stem. Place the plant into the hole. Fill the hole with the remaining dirt you dug from the hole. Lightly tap the dirt as you fill the hole.

Step 6
Lightly wrap a cloth strip around the middle of the jasmine seedling stem. Attach the cloth to the stake for support.

Step 7
Remove all the leaves from the jasmine seedling from ground level to 1 inch up the stem.

Step 8
Fertilize the jasmine according to package directions.

Water the jasmine and the roses at the base of the plants until wet but not soggy.
