Navigate to an online free ringtone maker such as Myxer and Make Own Ringtone. Both are compatible with Boost Mobile phones.

Browse for the song you want as your ringtone. Click "Select File" on Myxer or "Upload" on Make Own Ringtone, then browse for the song on your hard drive and select "Open."

Press the "Upload" button on Myxer to upload the song to the system. It will upload automatically on Make Own Ringtone.

Select the section of the song that you would like to use as your ringtone. Use the markers to move through the song on both Myxer and Make Own Ringtone to mark a start and ending point for your ringtone.

Preview the section of the song that is currently selected. Click the button with the right-pointing arrow to preview in Myxer, and click the "Selected" button to preview in Make Own Ringtone.

Enter the length or duration for your ringtone. The automatic default on the Myxer editor of 20 seconds is a good length for Boost Mobile phones. On Make Own Ringtone, the duration of the clip will appear once the starting and end points have been selected. Use the markers to change the starting or ending point to make the clip longer or shorter.

Click "Make A Ringtone" on Make Own Ringtone to convert the file you uploaded into ringtone format. On Myxer, this will be done automatically when the ringtone is sent to your phone.

Enter your phone number on Myxer. The box to enter your phone number will come up automatically. Type in your digits and click "Next." The ringtone will be sent directly to your phone.

Download the ringtone to your computer from Make Own Ringtone. Once the ringtone has been created, a link automatically comes up to download the ringtone.
