How to Set Custom Wallpaper

Both Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X come with a built-in set of wallpapers that can be set as the desktop background picture. However, if you have a personal photo, a drawing or a Photoshop file that you would rather have as a background, it takes only a few steps in both operating systems to do so. You can also preview your new wallpaper to save you time.

      Right-click anywhere on your Desktop and then select the "Personalize" option in the drop-down menu.

      Click on the "Desktop Background" link.

      Click on the "Browse" button next to the "Location" menu and navigate to the picture you want to set as your wallpaper.

      Click on the picture file and then click on "Open" to set the background.

      Click on the radio button that has the wallpaper positioning you like, and then click on "OK" to close the window.

      Click the "Apple" icon in the upper left of the desktop and then click on the "System Preferences" option.

      Click on the "Desktop & Screen Saver" icon in the "System Preferences."

      Click on the "Desktop" button on top of the "Desktop & Screen Saver" window.

      Click on the folder that contains the pictures you want to set as custom in the left pane of the "Desktop" window, which will display the available files in thumbnail size in the right pane.
