The strength of your golf cart is determined by the batteries---the stronger the batteries, the more power your golf cart will have. As with all batteries, you must eventually change the batteries in your golf cart. Here's how to do it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wrench
  1. Step 1

Locate where the batteries are located, usually under the seat. There will be either six 6-volt batteries (36 volts), six 8-volts (48 volts) or eight 6-volts (48 volts).

  2. Step 2

Loosen the terminals using a wrench.

  3. Step 3

    Lift out the battery.

  4. Step 4

Place the new battery where the old one was.

  5. Step 5

Reattach the terminals using a wrench. Make sure to connect the terminals to the appropriate cables (positive to positive and negative to negative).

Tips & Warnings
  • You may have to go to a specialty shop. The cluster of batteries are called packs. If one battery in the pack goes bad, you can replace only the one and do not have to replace all of the batteries. Batteries can range in price from $100 to $400.
  • If any battery acid is present, be careful not to get it on your skin or in your eyes.
