How to Stop Squeaky Recliner Springs
One thing can prevent a relaxing sit in your favorite recliner. If the springs are squeaky and make noise each time you reposition yourself, it is time to repair your chair. Lay down a drop cloth to protect your floor while working on your recliner.

Turn your recliner upside down so that it lies directly on top of the drop cloth.

Tighten any loose nuts and bolts, which may be adding to the squeaking noise, with a wrench.

Spray springs and other moving parts underneath your recliner with WD-40 or a cooking oil spray. Both items will lubricate the parts and prevent squeaking, but the cooking spray will not leave a strong odor like WD-40.

Allow the recliner to sit for two hours, and then reapply the WD-40 or cooking spray.

Use a dry cotton cloth to wipe away any excess oil.

Turn the recliner rightside up and remove the drop cloth, being careful not to let any oil drip onto the floor.
