How to Create Timelines With a Freeware Download

Sometimes, at school or in the workplace, you may be required to make a timeline chart to show details about an event. The timeline chart will show what happened over the course of the event in a clear, easy to follow way. One easy way to do this is to download a freeware program, that is, a program that's initially free to use

Instructions

1. Download a timeline program. An example of such a program is Timeline Maker. (See "Resources."). Click on the download link and then hit the 'Download Now" link on the program page. Click "Save As" to download the program.

2. Open the installation once it downloads to your computer and install it. Open the program by clicking on the shortcut on your desktop.

3. Add your events one at a time. There should be a box marked "Event Name" in which you can enter the name of the event you want to add. Next to that are boxes named "Start date" and "Start Time" and "End Date" and "End Time."

4. Click on the "Chart" tab once you have added each event you want, and their dates and times. You should then see a timeline chart laid out on the page for you.
