How to Tuck BDU Cuffs in Boots

Regulations dictate how soldiers should wear the military battle dress uniform (BDU). The rules require that the cuffs of the trousers be bloused and then tucked into combat boots. During extremely hot weather, the Local Uniform Authority, which enforces the dress code, may allow soldiers to unblouse the trousers.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the drawstrings on the BDU trouser cuffs snugly around the ankle. Tie the strings into a bow. This is referred to as "blousing" the trousers.

    • 2

Pull your boots over the trouser cuff.

    • 3

Adjust the BDU trouser cuff if it has bunched or twisted while putting on your boots.

    • 4

Tie your boots and tuck the laces inside.
