Instructions

  1. Proper Use

    • 1

Rinse and dry your grill pan before each use. Dry thoroughly with paper towels because if there is any water left behind, it might spatter the oil.

    • 2

Coat the bottom of the grill pan with a thin layer of oil. Apply it with a paper towel to get an even coat between all the grill ridges.

    • 3

Place the pan on low heat. Gradually increase the heat until you get the desired temperature. Place the food you are cooking on the hot grill ridges.

    Proper Cleaning

    • 4

Deglaze the pan by boiling water, if necessary, to loosen any stuck-on food. Scrape between the ridges with a silicone or wood utensil. Do not use metal as this will scratch the pan.

    • 5

Scrub the pan with a nylon brush under hot water after it is cool enough to handle. Do not use soap and do not put your grill pan in the dishwasher. Lodge pre-seasons its cookware and soap will break down or remove the seasoning.

    • 6

Dry thoroughly with paper towels. If the paper towels pick up any residual grease or oil, scrub and dry the pan again.

    • 7

Coat the pan inside and out with a thin layer of cooking oil using a paper towel.

    Proper Storage

    • 8

Store your Lodge grill pan in a cool, dry place. If you are concerned about oil on you shelving, you can place a thin strip of wood between the pan and the shelf.

    • 9

Use a layer of paper towel between each multiple pans if you store them nested. This will help ensure no moisture gets trapped between them, damaging the seasoning.

    • 10

Re-season the grill pan as necessary coating the pan inside and out with a generous layer of oil and placing it upside down in a 350- to 400-degree Fahrenheit oven for at least an hour. Turn the oven off and remove the pan when it has cooled.
