1. Raid the aluminum foil drawer of your kitchen. Balloon Boy’s balloon was made of shiny Mylar, so to make a Balloon Boy Halloween costume you’ll need to use tin foil or glitter fabric. Make a simple balloon boy costume with the shiny reflective panels you use to keep heat out of your car.

2. Don’t forget the accessories. You’ll want to tailor your look with duct tape, cardboard, and a flimsily-constructed basket. Hold an empty water-fountain bottle with “helium” printed on the side.

3. Include the whole family! Your balloon boy costume will be better if you have friends to play the Heene brothers, parents Richard and Mayumi, and the media. Ask a friend to hold a camera and document your every move.
