Nothing is more drab than serving the usual spaghetti sauce from a jar. But who has the time to make it from scratch? By accident, I happened upon a way to make ordinary store bought spaghetti sauce taste like fine Italian cuisine. Once you try it this way, you'll never go back!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 jars spaghetti sauce (I personally use Newman's Own Red Cabernet Marinara)
  • 2 cans Italian style diced tomatoes
  • 1 lb hamburger meat
  • crock pot
  1. Step 1

Brown your hamburger meat, then drain it.

  2. Step 2

Pour the meat into the crock pot. Then add the two jars of sauce and the two cans of tomatoes. Stir everything together, making sure that all ingredients are evenly mixed.

  3. Step 3

Cover & cook on low for 5-8 hours. Don't open the lid and peek more than only once or twice to stir, you want all the flavors to melt together. It's important not to lose heat here.

  4. Step 4

Serve sauce over spaghetti. For even more of an authentic flair, top with finely shredded parmesan cheese and serve with garlic bread.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you like your spaghetti on the spicy side, add black pepper and crushed red pepper in step 2.
  • If you prefer a sweeter sauce, add 1/2-1 tsp sugar or splenda in step 2.
