Children are very observant to the adults in everything they do. They can easily imitate what they see because the little ones presume that what the grown ups do is always right. Therefore, we must set good examples to them and the most effective way of teaching kids good values is to live what we teach. We must be a living example of what we teach them.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience and determination.
  1. Step 1

when you teach the kids about honesty, let them see it by your example. Don't just tell them to be honest but be an example of honesty. In any circumstances, tell the truth no matter what it cost. Let the kids see that you will take a risk for the sake of being honest because this is a virtue that is now diminishing in our society today. When kids know the value of honesty at an early age from the examples we showed them, this will remain in their hearts and minds wherever they maybe.

  2. Step 2

Respect is another important values that kids should learn. It is very effective to teach respect when we, the adults would set good examples to Be respectful. Respect with the property of others, respect the opinions of others, respect in any form should be displayed by adults to the kids. If possible, avoid teasing, backbiting, bickering, insulting, or even touch other people's property without permission. Kids are very observant on that. They will count it against you once you tell them to be respectful while you yourself is not respectful. Respect the old people too. Avoid talking back or arguing in front of the children. Teaching by doing is very effective.

  3. Step 3

Teach the children about money management by showing them examples. Be firm in saying no. Don't just buy anything they ask for. Explain to them the difference between a NEED and WANT. Prioritize the need and forget the wants just have it later when the money is more than enough for the needs of the family. Most kids will understand if you will explain and give reasons why you will not spend for it. Be sure that you will stick to the need not to your personal wants.

  4. Step 4

Adults must be consistent of what they say to the kids because kids lost respect to people who are inconsistent. What I mean by being inconsistent is that you are saying one thing and do another thing. Kids will be confused in this scenario and they will not believe you anymore in whatever things you teach them. Living what you teach is the an effective way of teaching kids.
