  1. Step 1

    Think of funny thoughts than make you laugh. Reminisce on something you heard or saw that was funny to ease your pain.

    Laughter is a known cure to beat the blues. It eases pain and allows us to heal quicker during illnesses. Laughter can put you into state euphoria and alleviate stress. People who laugh more are happier and have longer lives. Laughing gives us endorphins that make us feel happy and a sense of well being. Try laughing right now and see how you feel afterwards. I guaranteed you will feel more blissful and would want to spread the joy. Go have some fun in the sun, soak up some joy, but don't forget to laugh. Watch out, laughing can become contagious around those who seek joy.

  2. Step 2

    Work on you pain

    However, work on your pain. Find solutions that will help you heal and move forward. If you have to have a good cry, go ahead, cry it out of your system, then have a good laugh. Crying releases the pain or sadness, laughing replaces it with happiness. Let the misery out of your system. Avoid miserable people or they will avoid you, because you're starting to laugh and smile more. If they want to change, they would want to laugh with you. If not, they will start to disappear into thin air. Many would have problems with your new found joy. In fact, they would start to hate it a lot to the point where they can't stand to be around you. This is okay during your transitional period from gloomy to bliss. You will start to attract more happy people who smile and laugh all the time.

  3. Step 3

    There are many ways to have laughter in your life. Reading funny comic books, going to stand up comedy shows, viewing funny sitcom on TV, and laughing at funny jokes will give you a laugh attack. Create cards that are funny and use them to have a good laugh when you need one. Do this all day and night; soon you will be laughing your way to happiness.

  4. Step 4

    Work on all of these steps to bring laughter into your life. Look at yourself in the mirror and look for the goodness you possess.

  • Laughing is very healthy and releases stress.
  • If you are dealing depression for prolong periods, seek intervention immediately.
  • Ideation of suicide, unable to get out of bed or the important things don't matter, get professional help immediately!
