Let’s talk about the significance of utilizing lawn fertilizing year round for luscious and beautiful lawns. Many new home-owners don’t realize the significance of lawn fertilizing year-round to keep a beautiful lawn. Even though grass is dormant in the winter months, the lawn fertilizing material helps to build the soil for growth periods. With proper lawn fertilizing materials year-round, you can have gorgeous grass.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lawn Mower
  • Garden Gloves
  • Gardening Rake
  • Lawn Fertilizing Material
  1. Step 1

Cut your grass to the lowest height recommended for the particular grass type. This will help with the lawn fertilizing later to assure great growth.

  2. Step 2

Rake the grass clippings with a garden rake. Place the grass clippings in a pile to use later as compost around your other landscaping plants, trees and shrubs.

  3. Step 3

Rent a lawn aerator equipment from your local gardening or local hardware store. Run the lawn aerator over the entire lawn area that you will be using lawn fertilizing material on. This will put holes in the lawn to better absorb the lawn fertilizing material.

  4. Step 4

Purchase lawn fertilizing that is specific to the type of grass you planted in your yard. Follow the lawn fertilizing instructions on the lawn fertilizing bag. Be certain that you cover the entire lawn with the lawn fertilizing material.

  5. Step 5

Repeat these steps every 3 months. Make sure you use lawn fertilizing items on your yard even in the colder months. This will make certain the soil is receiving lawn fertilizing nutrients to give you great grass when it’s not dormant.
