Step 1) With so many lawyers in the work force, now could be a perfect time for you to find a paralegal job. The first step in getting a para legal job is Getting your PARALEGAL CERTIFICATION. There are many schools across the country--online and conventional--that offer education in paralegal certification.

Step 2) After getting your paralegal certification, talk to the CAREER SERVICES department of your paralegal schools. They will point you in the right direction for attorney's offices that are hiring.

Step 3) The third step in finding a job as a paralegal is GOOGLING ALL THE LAWYERS IN YOUR AREA. Also, check out the yellowpages for lawyers. Call each lawyer on the list and talk to the hiring partner. Set up a meeting with the hiring partner after submitting to him or her your resume.

Step 4) The fourth step in finding a job as a legal secretary/paralegal is talking to your LOCAL BAR ASSOCIATION. Many bar associations--if not most--require lawyers in their area to join their bar association. The bar association will put you into contact with the appropriate lawyers.
