How to Make Boiled Eggs With A Kick
It's very satisfying to dip soft bread into a perfectly cooked boiled egg. That first moment when you break through the yolk and the bread sinks into the egg is great, but inevitably the yolk spills out and rolls down the side of the egg. For a change, try giving your boiled egg a bit of a kick; serve it on lightly toasted rye bread and spice it up. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place the egg into a saucepan of cold water. The water needs to cover the egg by about ½ inch.
-
2
Put the pan on the stove and turn on the heat to high. Turn the heat down immediately after the water boils so it's gently bubbling and set a timer for four minutes. This ensures the yolk is runny, but the white is slightly hard.

3
Place a slice of rye bread into a toaster. Turn on the toaster when the timer has one minute left to run.
-
4
Remove the pan from the heat once the time is up. Pour away the hot water then fill the pan using cold water. Leave it for 15 seconds, no more, then tip away the water. Turn off the toaster, but leave the bread in the toaster.

5
Use a knife and gently crack around the top of the egg shell. Peel off the top of the shell using your fingers. Place the egg on a plate for a moment and then put the warm bread onto another plate.
-
6
Use a teaspoon and slide the spoon down the side of the egg between the shell and the egg white, trying not to disturb the egg too much. Move the teaspoon around between the shell and the egg white so you loosen it.
-
7
Scoop out the egg and place it gently on the center of the bread. Don't be concerned if the egg splits slightly and the yolk flows.
-
8
Put a few drops of your favorite hot pepper sauce over the egg. Sit down and enjoy.
