How to Find an Exciting Military Job

The U.S. armed forces offer a plethora of career opportunities. There are jobs for those who are interested in technology, finance, law, or engineering. Finding a job that is both interesting and fits your skills can be overwhelming with the number of military jobs available, but few simple steps can help make the experience of finding an exciting military job an enjoyable task.

  1. Take a test

    • 1

      Take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, or ASVAB test. The ASVAB is a test which helps to predict which military jobs will be the most successful and best fit for a person. Taking the ASVAB test may match you with an exciting military job that you were unaware of (see Reference 1).

      Visit a military recruiting office. The recruiting officers ca explain all of the opportunities that the military offers and can help match you with a potentially exciting job.

    • 3

      Speak to friends or family already in the military about various jobs. Don't be afraid to ask about jobs that are available and see if they have any recommendations on jobs.
