How to Bake Kidney Beans

Kidney beans have many health benefits. They are full of fiber to keep a body regular, and they are great at reducing cholesterol. Things You'll Need

  • 16 oz. of canned kidney beans
  • 1/2 pkg. of bacon
  • 1 onion
  • 1 green pepper
  • 8 oz. of ketchup
  • 1 oz. of mustard
  • 4 tbsp. of brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. of cinnamon
  • Frying pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon
  • Baking dish

Instructions

      Take out your frying pan and cook the bacon until it becomes crispy. Set it on a paper towel until the fat drains off of it and then crumble it in your mixing bowl.

      Preheat your oven on to 350 degrees F.

      Open your can of kidney beans and add it to the mixing bowl.

      Finely chop up your onion and green pepper and place them in the mixing bowl along with the kidney beans and the bacon.

      Add the ketchup, mustard, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Stir until all of the ingredients are combined.

      Scoop the contents of the mixing bowl into the baking dish.

      Bake for one hour. Serve hot.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also cut up hot dogs and add them to the dish to serve as an entire meal.

  • You can use dry kidney beans, but it does add hours to the time it takes to make this dish since you will have to soak the beans in water.
