How to Install a Kitchen Stove
Kitchens have many appliances that may need to be replaced from time to time if they are old or no longer functioning correctly. One type of kitchen appliance that you may need to replace is your kitchen stove. Kitchen stoves come in two types: electric and gas. Electric Stove

Place the stove in its proper location. Plug the power cord into the electric outlet before setting the stove in place.

Place a level on top of the stove to ensure it is level. Use shims under the stove to level it if necessary.

Turn on the stove to make sure it is working properly.
Gas Stove

Turn off the gas supply that comes into your house. A valve for the gas line should be located in your basement or crawl space.

Connect the gas line to the back of the new stove and then set it in place. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten the fittings connecting the gas line to the stove.

Place a level on top of the stove to ensure it is level. Use shims under the stove to level it if necessary.

Turn on the gas, checking the pilot light to be sure that the burners ignite properly. Refer to the instructions for your gas stove to properly light the pilot light for the first time.

Tips & Warnings
Have a qualified plumber install a gas line if you are converting from an electric to gas stove.
Do not try to move a stove by yourself without first securing the stove to a dolly.
Gas leaks may exist when the connection is made to the gas line.
