How to Store Silk Scarfs

Silk scarves are a great, diverse accessory. They can dress up an outfit or add a splash of color. You can use a scarf as a belt or as a top. It can be tied onto a purse or around your neck. Silk scarves are quite delicate, though, and must be cleaned and stored properly to ensure a long shelf life.

Things You'll Need

• Hangers
• Clips
• Scarves

Instructions

1. Find rubber or wooden clips that are large enough to be be clamped onto the body of a hanger.

2. Place the clips over the body of the hanger and clamp them down.

3. Lay each scarf out, making sure it is not twisted, tied or folded.

4. Place one end of the scarf between the teeth of the clip while it is still on the hanger. Allow the other end of the scarf to drape down. This ensures the scarves will not become wrinkled.

5. Once all the scarves are on hangers, organize them by color. Now you don't have to worry about searching through boxes or drawers. Each scarf is easy to spot and ready to wear.
