  • Paper towels
  • WD-40
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Safe-color bleach (optional)

      Place the clothes on paper towels with the stain face down.

      Spray the clothes with WD-40 on the backside of the stain. A light covering is all that is necessary. Let the clothes sit for five minutes.

      Pour dishwashing liquid onto the backside of the stain, and work it into the cloth by rubbing it gently in a circular motion with your fingers.

      Launder the clothes in the hottest water the clothes will allow. Set your washing machine to a heavily soiled setting, if available, or set the timer for 12 minutes. Use safe-color bleach if the clothes allow for it. Rinse the clothes well in warm water.

      Hang the clothes, and allow them to air dry.

Tips & Warnings

  • After a laundry mishap, make sure you remove crayon from the inside of your dryer as well as the clothes or you will perpetuate the problem. Spray a cloth with WD-40, and apply a coating to the dryer drum. Tumble dry a load of rags to ensure all crayon is removed.
