Things You'll Need:
- Fishing tackle-box.
- Varies by person, but mine has: scissors, reading glasses, cell phone, sewing kit and extra spools, iPod USB cord, USB-to-USB cord, calculator, phone cord, tape, erasers, pencils, pens, markers,
- thumb tacks, push-pins, pitch pipe, vitamins, keepsakes, paper clips, business cards, index cards, post-its, cord ties, chap stick, batteries, box-opener, stapler, staples,
- reading glasses, fingernail clippers, cigar clipper, matches, receipts, batteries, extra keys, hardware, iPod or similar device, rubber bands (see my article on rubber band balls), string and/or rope,
- , change, bookmark, chalk, CDs/DVDs, pump needle, stamps, envelopes, pocket knife, flash drive and your camera!
-
Step 1
It may not make a great fashion statement (depending on where you live!), but acquire a practical-sized fishing tackle-box.
-
Step 2
Dump out your purse, home desk drawers, and wallet, and ask yourself what is in there that you primarily use when you travel to work or school or to meet other busy professionals. Begin arranging this, and ask yourself if you might need to make a trip to an office supply store to pick up some things you may have forgotten.
-
Step 3
Systematically assemble your items in the various compartments in the tackle box. I keep my business cards, writing instruments, and other items I want quick access to in the top shelf. The accordion-like effect of tackle boxes, however, allows for multiple layers of organized storage. Enjoy the convenience, and don't forget your laptop case!
