Dressing up is fun and great on a woman's ego. Getting dressed in a glittery gown for your prom is a night to remember. Just because you get dressed up, doesn't mean that you have to spend a fortune.

Prom night should be about having fun with friends, and a night that you will always remember.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

BORROW A GOWN. Although each prom season has specific styles, some dresses are timeless. It is worth asking friends or family members if they have a prom dress they have used. It will save you money, and time. If the gown doesn't fit exactly right, it may still be work using after having a few minor alterations.

  2. Step 2

USE A BRIDESMAID DRESS. Many bridesmaid dresses can be used as prom dresses. If you have a dress in your closet, consider using different accessories, or a shawl or sweater to create your own unique look with the dress.

  3. Step 3

RENT A DRESS. Why should guys be the only ones that can rent items for the prom? Visit One Night Affair at www.onenightaffair.com. This website offers you the ability to rent a dress for your important night.

  4. Step 4

CHECKOUT SECOND-HAND STORES. Second hand stores may have prom dress options. If you love fashion, purchase a dress from a second-hand store that you can make your own by adding jewels or other fabrics to the dress.

  5. Step 5

LOOK FOR DISCONTINUED DRESSES. Bridal stores, or stores that sell prom dresses may offer a discount on dresses that are discontinued. Check the store for possible dress options that are in line with your budget.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember your prom is supposed to be fun, don't stress about the dress.
