First, it may be a good idea to check your system properties to see if you need an external hard drive. Most articles do not take up much hard drive space but some people have an abundance of articles.

Copy and paste into Microsoft Word. This is what I typically do. I have made a separate E how folder on my computer as well to stay organized.

Use your “Thanks for writing an article on E how” email as a reminder to back up your articles.

USB drives are an option.

Keep in mind that system crashes can happen to anyone. This is why external hard drives, online storage sites, and USBs come in handy. Happy file backing!
