Step 1
Browse through your kids favorite coloring books. You can tear out coloring book pages that have clear and simple outlines of your favorite characters. Coloring books are a great way to find free pumpkin carving designs.
-
Step 2
Print out words in a large and fun font using your computer and printer. Use seasonal Halloween words such as, “Boo!”, “Happy Halloween”, and “Trick-or-Treat”.
-
Step 3
Search online using words such as “free”, “pumpkin”, “carving”, “designs”, “templates”, “patterns” and “stencils”. There are several good sites that offer free pumpkin carving designs. Try Ultimate-pumpkin-stencils.com, Celebrating-halloween.com and Carvingpumpkins.com. Download your favorite pumpkin carving template, print it out and start carving your jack-o-lantern.
-
Step 4
If you can’t find the perfect pumpkin carving stencil or your kids are too young to carve, try decorating a pumpkin this Halloween. Use paint, stickers, and glitter to decorate a pumpkin instead of carving one.
