Everyone should have an easy, fast chili recipe that they can throw together quickly. Whether it is the first cold evening of autumn or you are snowed in during the winter, there are times when only chili can cut the chill.

This recipe can be made as a vegetarian chili recipe by skipping the meat. This recipe can be made as a hot chili recipe by adding hotsauce or a can of tomatoes with chili's.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Canned Chili starter such as Chili Magic or others.
  • 16 oz Canned black beans
  • 16 oz Canned diced tomatoes
  • one pound ground beef or ground chicken or ground turkey
  • optional - two yellow onions or frozen diced onions
  • Salt, pepper, paprika and chili powder to taste
  • Optional - For HOT Chili add Small Canned tomatoes with chili' s
  1. Step 1

When at the grocery store, buy ingredients to make the recipe twice. Except for the onions and ground meat, all ingredients can sit ready for instant use on the pantry shelf for at least a year.

  2. Step 2

Dice Onions and sauté in the bottom of a large, flat bottomed pan which has sides high enough to hold the rest of the Chili ingredients. Salt, pepper and put about a teaspoon of paprika on the onions as they are sauteing.

To quickent the process, keep frozen dicedd onions in the freezer ready to use for chili.

  3. Step 3

Remove Onions when they are transleucent and just beginning to turn brown. Add the ground meat, breaking it into small pieces while it is browning just as you would for taco meat. So that you always have ingredients on hand to make this fast chili, you can use ground meat from the freezer.

  4. Step 4

When the ground beef is browned, open all cans and place contents on top of the ground beef. Add onions back in. Add salt, pepper, paprika and chili powder to taste.

Stir and cook until heated through.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve with homemade cornbread,
  • Serve with hotsauce and grated cheddar cheese for toppings.
