How to Make a Pineapple Sheet Cake


Pineapple sheet cake is so yummy. It's good for pineapple upside down cake lovers. However, it's a great alternative, as it is to be served out of the pan. This recipe is made from scratch rather than a cake mix.

  • Gather and prepare your cake ingredients:
    2 cups of self rising flour
    1 1/4 cups of sugar
    1 20 ounce can of crushed pineapple (do not drain)
    1/2 cup of brown sugar
    1/2 cup of chopped black walnuts

  • Turn on the oven to preheat at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, and grease a 13X9 inch cake pan.

  • Mix the flour, sugar and pineapple together in a large mixing bowl.

  • Pour the batter into the cake pan, and sprinkle the top with brown sugar and the walnuts.

  • Bake the cake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

  • While the cake bakes, prepare the glaze:

    3/4 cup of sugar
    1/2 cup of butter
    5 ounces of evaporated milk

  • Mix all the glaze ingredients in a saucepan, and cook over medium heat.

  • Stir the glaze constantly and bring to a boil.

  • Boil for about 10 minutes, and when ready, pour it over the warm cake.
