- Phillips screwdriver
- Putty knife

Step 1
Unplug the washing machine.

Turn off the hot and cold water valves, then disconnect the water hoses from the washer.

Pull the washing machine out from the wall.

Remove the seven screws from the back panel of the control panel unit on the washer. Remove the back panel and set it aside.

Step 5
Tip the control panel forward, then disconnect the connectors on the printed circuit board under the control panel. Remove the control panel and set it aside.

Open the dispenser lid on the top cover. Remove the four screws revealed under the dispenser lid. Remove the dispenser lid. Depress the hooks holding the dispenser unit and let the unit drop into the top cover.

Step 7
Hold the top cover by grasping it through the dispenser unit hole.

Step 8
Insert the putty knife into the gap between the front cover and the top cover about 2-1/2 inches from the left side of the washing machine. Locate the spring clip. Press the putty knife against the clip until the clip releases. Lift the left corner far enough to disengage it from the clip

Step 9
Insert the putty knife into the gap between the front cover and the top cover about 2-1/2 inches from the right side of the washing machine. Locate the spring clip. Press the putty knife against the clip until the clip releases. Lift the top cover off and set it aside.
