Things You'll Need:
- Power steering pump pulley puller
- Power steering pump pulley installer

Step 1
Remove the power steering belt. Loosen the tensioning bolt and push the power steering pump toward the engine. Then remove the belt.

Step 2
Place the power steering puller shaft against the shaft on the power steering pump that runs through the center of the pulley.

Step 3
Place the two pieces of the split collar around the puller shaft so that the bottom lip on each collar engages the lip in the center of the pulley.

Step 4
Place the steel retaining ring around the two pieces of the split collar.

Step 5
Turn the nut on the puller shaft clockwise until it contacts the top of the two pieces of the split collar.

Step 6
Hold the nut on the puller shaft with a wrench.

Step 7
Attach a socket and ratchet to the bolt head on the end of the puller shaft. Turn the ratchet clockwise to draw the pulley off the power steering pump shaft.

Step 1
Place the power steering pump pulley squarely on the power steering pump shaft.

Step 2
Thread the pulley installer into the pump shaft until it bottoms out.

Step 3
Turn the nut on the installer shaft until it bottoms out against the pulley.

Step 4
Hold the bolt head on the end of the installer with a wrench.

Step 5
Turn the nut on the installer shaft clockwise until the pulley is installed on the pump shaft.

Step 6
Unscrew the installer from the power steering pump shaft.

Step 7
Place the power steering belt over the pulley.

Step 8
Slide the power steering pump away from the engine and tighten the adjusting nut.
