How to Follow Test Directions

You can pass or fail a test based on the instructions alone. Before the actual test begins, you'll find a test of your ability to follow directions. Once you have a clear understanding of what you are expected to do, you are able to execute the instructions given you.

1. Pay attention to oral instructions given by the test moderator. These oral instructions may begin as early as your arrival at the testing location.

2. Ask questions on any part of the verbal instructions that are not clear. Understanding the instructions is vital. You can't follow the examination moderator's instructions you're not clear on what they mean.

3. Read carefully and completely all the written instructions in the document given you.

Tips & Warnings

• Get enough sleep the night before and eat an good breakfast on the morning of the test. Do not drink alcohol or take drugs that will impair your mental alertness prior to testing. Mental alertness and physical well-being will allow you to carefully pay attention and comprehend instructions given you.
