Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hotmail account
  1. Step 1

Access the Windows Live website (see Resources). Enter your Windows Live ID and password into the relevant fields.

  2. Step 2

Click "Sign In." Windows Live will route you to your Hotmail inbox, which contains your incoming e-mail.

  3. Step 3

Double-click the title of a message within the inbox to view it. Some messages may be stored in other folders such as "Junk" or "Drafts." If that's the case, Windows Live will display the folder name in bold letters. The number of e-mails in each folder will appear in parentheses next to the folder name. Access one of these folders by clicking its name, located in the pane on the left side of the Hotmail window.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the buttons located directly above and below the inbox, such as "Mark as" and "Move to," to manage your e-mail messages. Alternatively, you can find these commands by highlighting a message and right-clicking on it.
  • To ensure the security of your Windows Live account, click the "Sign Out" link at the top right corner of the Hotmail window once you have finished working with your e-mail.
