How to Reset the Memory on Digital Answering Machines

Digital answering machines are used with your home phone line to store messages from calls you missed. If you purchased a used answering machine at a garage sale or just want a clean slate, you can reset the memory on the digital answering machine. Doing so is will remove all of the stored messages and your personal message. Does this Spark an idea?

  Turn the machine upside down and disconnect the adapter.

  Open the battery chamber by lifting up and pulling out on the plastic tab over the battery.
- 3
  
  Remove the battery and leave it out for a few moments.
- 4
  
  Place the battery back into the device and close the chamber. Reattach the adapter to the back of the answering machine. The memory is now cleared and reset.
- 5
  
  Record your new answering message.
