Duke Pomade Wave Method
-
1
Get a haircut. Waves start best on a fresh cut. Make sure your hair is cut no shorter than 1½ inchces. Super short hair will be able to form waves properly.
-
2
Wash your hair to remove old product buildup, dirt and debris.
-
-
3
Blot your hair with a towel. Do not allow your hair to dry completely.
-
4
Apply a generous amount of Duke Pomade to the hair. Evenly distribute the pomade and apply in the direction of your natural wave pattern.
-
5
Brush your hair forward using a boar bristle or other firm bristle brush starting at the crown. Using the crown as the central point, follow your hair's natural growth pattern down and around as you brush. Brush all the way down to the hairline, then return to the crown and repeat. Do not brush against your natural growth/wave pattern (or against the grain).
-
6
Apply even brushing pressure around the circumference of your head. This will ensure that the pattern is neat, even and defined. Brush the hair several times each day. The more you brush, the more defined the waves will be.
-
7
Cover your brushed hair with a head rag / doo-rag. The doo-rag will train your waves to gain definition and should be worn often for best results. The longer it is worn, the more defined the waves.

Repeat Steps 4-7 daily for 2 months for best results.

Tips & Warnings
When training your waves to come out, do not wash the hair for the first 2 weeks. Water will disturb the wave pattern you are building. Do not cut your hair while the waves are being trained.
