Camping and fishing are time-honored traditions enjoyed by outdoor enthusiasts around the world. Whether you enjoy simple overnight trips near home or trekking deep into the back country, experienced campers know that an integral part of any successful trip is maintaining quality equipment. One such piece of gear is a waterproof light for getting around the campsite at night, and even better is a floating light for fishing trips. The Eveready floating lantern is both, and has the advantage of being easy to maintain whenever it needs a new battery installed.
Things You'll Need
- 6-volt lantern battery
Remove the head of the lantern by turning it counterclockwise until it releases from the body. Remove the two plastic caps that cover the springs at the top of the battery and insert the battery into the lantern with the springs facing upward.
Replace the head of the lantern by lining up the slot in the reflector with the raised rib inside the body of the lantern. Turn the head clockwise until tight.
Test the lantern by pressing the black rubber button at the top.
Tips & Warnings
- Always carry an extra bulb and battery for your Eveready floating lantern; both are widely available at any full service hardware store or home center such as Lowe's or Home Depot.
