1
Check your kitchen cabinet doors. If you have solid flat door cabinets, you may want to consider purchasing new cabinet doors. However, if the doors on your kitchen cabinets are raised or flat panel doors, you should be able to tackle this project with limited troubles.

2
Remove the cabinet door and become accustomed to the design of the door. Is your door assembled in two pieces or just one? If your door is just one piece, the process can be a little more difficult.

Remove the panel from your two-piece cabinet door. If your cabinet door is a one-piece design, mark where you want the glass panel to be. Once you have the outline marked, start a hole with a small drill. Once a hole has been started, use a jig saw to cut away the rest of the panel.
-
4
Create a ledge for your glass insert to fit into once the wood panel is removed. Two-piece doors should have a ledge already. Remove any dried glue left over from the wood paneling. If you have cut the panel out of your one-piece door, you will need to use a router to cut a shelf or ledge for your glass panel to sit on.

5
Put silicone around the entire ledge of the door. Once you have the silicone on the door, carefully press the glass into the silicone. Finish the job by securing the glass with plastic clips that screw in place. Plastic or metal washer-type clips can be purchased at most hardware stores.
