Making some changes to your diet can help drastically lower your cholesterol. Changing your eating habits is also by far the cheapest method for lowering your cholesterol.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When selecting dairy products, always opt for the lower fat options. Choose skim milk instead of whole, low fat yogurts, low fat cheeses, and even sherbert instead of ice cream.

  2. Step 2

When eating eggs or egg products, try to stick using the whites. Try to limit eating egg yolks to less than 3 per week.

  3. Step 3

Make sure to eat 3 servings of fruit daily, and try to eat raw fruits. Avoid coconut though, which is bad for cholesterol. When selecting vegetables, try to avoid avocado and olives. Also limit your starchy vegetables, such as potatoes.

  4. Step 4

Avoid cream and buttery sauces. Also avoid heavily processed foods and sugary and salty foods. When selecting cereals and breads, try to select natural based, high fiber grains.
