Things You'll Need:
- basket or other container like a roasting pan
- fall fruits like apples, pears and oranges
- confetti or tissue paper to place in the bottom of the container.
- canned ham
- mustards
- bread mix
- marshmellows
- canned sweet potatoes
- your imagination
-
Step 1
Take your container and fill the inside with tissue paper or what ever you decide to use for the base to give it height. Keep in mind you don't always have to use a traditional basket, for this occasion, try a roasting pan, even a foil one from the dollar store is fine.
-
Step 2
Next start placing your items inside. If you are using a canned ham, make that the center and place the remainder of items around that. Keep in mind items that go with each other. You could provide items that go with the dinner keeping the only thing left to buy is the turkey and produce.
Using the items listed, feel free to add or remove those you wish, place the mustards around the ham. Then add the cheeses, bread mix and other items around to they are all visible. -
Step 3
Take some sort of wrap, shrink wrap is nice but even the cellophane you purchase at the grocery store works nice and you can purchase it in different colors. Try keeping the color of the wrap in mind when buying the tissue paper so it's not clashing. Tie with a pretty ribbon.

on 10/18/2009 Thanks for writing, "How to make a gift basket to give during the fall or Thanksgiving." I'm visiting my son and daughter-in-law in a couple of weeks and wanted to bring a hostess gift. Your instructions for a gift basket is just what I needed to pull everything together.
