Things You'll Need:
- Cloth
- Furniture wax
- Dryer sheet
- 2 cups vinegar
- 1/2 cup ammonia
- 1 cup water
- Spray bottle
-
Step 1
Clean the area with a disinfectant spray for tile. Wash the spray off with water and a dry cloth. This will help to get rid of any chunks of soap or excess dirt in the mold. Make sure to wear rubber gloves when cleaning.
-
Step 2
Apply furniture wax or polish to the area of the mold. Let the wax sit on the mold for at least five minutes, then wipe in off with a cloth. This should loosen more of the soap scum and mold.
-
Step 3
Rub a dryer sheet slight over the area to remove excess soap scum on the area. Don't apply too much pressure on the mold area. If a small stain or hard mold remains, continue to Step 4.
-
Step 4
Heat 2 cups of vinegar in your microwave for 30 seconds and then pour into a small spray bottle. Spray the warm vinegar onto to mold and continue to wipe off the area until the majority of mold is gone. Rinse the area with water once you're finished.
-
Step 5
Mix 1/2 cup of ammonia and 1 cup of water into a small spray bottle. Spray this on the mold two or three times, and any remaining portions of soap mold should be removed once you wipe it off.
