How to Know the Gender of Your Baby
Determining the gender of your baby is an exciting experience, although it is not something you can do on your own. The best way to determine the gender is by having a transabdominal ultrasound preformed by a medical professional. This test can be performed during the second trimester, and depending on the baby's position, it may need to be repeated to identify the gender. This test is not always 100% reliable, but it is the most-common gender identification test used today.

Tips & Warnings
You should start drinking your water about 30 minutes prior to the start of the ultrasound if you have a sensitive bladder. You will not need to undress completely. Wear clothing that is comfortable. You should only need to lift your shirt to just above your belly, and you may need to push the waist of your pants down just a bit. This test is not painful. The only discomfort that might be felt may be from the radiologist pushing on your full bladder.
Your baby may be resting in a position that doesn't allow for the radiologist to determine the gender. If this happens, the test may need to be repeated another time.
