How to Create a Baby Ticker
You're expecting a baby and you want to tell the world. You've talked with your mom and sisters, your friends all know, even your cousins are in the loop. Your friends online deserve some updates, too. Baby tickers are small notices that you can add to your signature in message board and blog posts. They calculate how long before the baby is born according to your due date, and show it in an attractive or amusing little illustration. No need for constant baby updates, your ticker will let everyone know how long it is until the big day.

Choose your ticker style. There are many to pick from. The ticker at Babystrology.com is a very realistic looking view of a transparent mother's womb with a baby inside, showing how your baby looks in each week of pregnancy. The ticker at TheBump.com is a more traditional ticker, with about a dozen background strips and about 50 different markers. They do include markers for twins and triplets. Pregnancy-duedate.com has a very large collection of background strips and markers, in a large variety of types.

Log on to your chosen site and fill out the required form. On most sites, this will involve picking out the background strip, picking out the marker that will slide along the strip, filling in your due date, and perhaps adding one line of text for below the ticker.

Click on the button when you are finished. Your ticker will appear, along with the source code for posting on message boards and blog posts. Click right before the beginning of the code and highlight all of the source code, then right click when the cursor is directly at the end of the code. Right click and choose cut. When you get to the message board page, click where you want to put the ticker, right click and choose paste.

Tips & Warnings
Paste your source code onto a page in Notepad, and you can cut and paste it any day you like without remaking it at the original site.
