Find a reputable dermatologist, and make an appointment and have him examine the hanging mole. The doctor will decide what procedure to use for removing the mole.

The dermatologist may try to freeze the mole with nitrous oxide in order to remove it. The process is called cryotherapy. This stops the blood from flowing to the mole and after freezing, the doctor will either remove it by cutting it with a scissors or medical cutting tool to get rid of it instantly. Some bleeding may occur after this kind of mole removal, but it is minimal.

The dermatologist may also use a procedure called cauterization, where she will burn the hanging mole using a powerful electric current to remove it. It removes the mole permanently, but may cause some type of damage to the surrounding area of the skin.

Get a piece of thread or dental floss. Tie it tightly and close to the beginning of the mole. After the thread or floss is tightly secured, the flow of blood will be cut off from the hanging mole. Keep it tied for a couple of days until the mole falls off along with the thread or dental floss.

Buy some Vitamin E cream at your local pharmacy. Apply it to the area of the hanging mole. Put a band aid or clean gauze over the area where you have applied the Vitamin E cream. If you do not want to use a band aid, use duct tape instead. These help to stop the supply of blood to the hanging mole. Remove the band aid or duct tape after 24 hours and the hanging mole will fall off.

  • Ask the doctor if laser procedure is a more desirable method of removing the hanging mole.
