How to Save Animated Files From Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is an extensive graphics software program used to edit and create digital images. It also can be used to create animated files. Traditional film is a series of still shots that play one after another to give the illusion of motion or animation. In Photoshop, layers are created, with individual layers shown in sequence to provide the animation. This is done by going to "Windows" and then "Animation," to open the animation storyboard. After the animation is created, a file must be saved from Photoshop.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on "File" and "Save for Web" after you have created your animation layers.

    • 2

Preview your animation before saving by clicking the "Preview in Default Browser," which is a globed icon with a question mark, located at the bottom of the window that opens when choosing "Save for Web."

    • 3

Close the preview window and proceed to save if you are satisfied with the animation you've created.

    • 4

Choose "GIF" as the file format from the drop-down window located at the right of the screen. It might be the default setting.

    • 5

Click the "Save" link located at the upper right side of the screen.

    • 6

Name the file in the new menu you have opened and save to your computer. The file should be saved in a GIF format to preserve the animation
