Linen fabric is known for its ability to stay cool and fresh even in hot climates. Linen has been used as a fabric for clothing and dressing tables and bedding for over ten thousand years. Caring for linen bedding is simple and does not require any special skills.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dryel home drycleaning kit or professional dry cleaners
  1. Step 1

Decide whether you wish to have your linen bedding properly cleaned by a professional dry cleaner or if you prefer to clean it yourself.

  2. Step 2

Strip the bed of all of your linen bedding. Remove linen pillowcases from the pillows, and set the pillows aside.

  3. Step 3

Place all of your linen bedding into one pile. If you have decided to have it professionally cleaned, place your bedding into a bag and take it to the cleaners.

  4. Step 4

If you have decided to clean your linen bedding at home, prepare to use your Dryel home dry cleaning kit.

  5. Step 5

Remove the pile of linen bedding, and place it near your dryer.

  6. Step 6

Count the pieces of linen bedding you have collected.

  7. Step 7

Place four pieces of linen bedding in your Dryel dry cleaning bag. Place one dry cleaning pad in the bag as well. Dry cleaning pads are located inside the Dryel kit.

  8. Step 8

Zip the dryel bag, and place it in your dryer. Use the setting of tumble, press or any gentle cycle, and let it run for twenty minutes.

  9. Step 9

Repeat the cycle with any additional linen bedding you have.

Tips & Warnings
  • 100 percent linen should not be machine washed. Either you must take it to a professional dry cleaner, or purchase a Dryel home dry cleaning kit. Dryel kits are available at all department stores and supermarkets and are relatively inexpensive.
