How to Fry Shrimp
Deep fry shrimp like it's done in the South of the United States. Shrimp is a popular seafood. It doesn't have the fishy taste some complain about when eating fish fillets. Shrimp contains Omega-3, a necessary nutrient. Raw shrimp works best, but substitute frozen shrimp if necessary. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Shrimp
- Deep saucepan
- Oil
- Plastic zipper bag
- Flour
- Slotted spoon
- Plate
- Paper towels

Thaw the shrimp if it's frozen. Put two cups of flour in a plastic zipper bag.

Fill a saucepan one-third of the way with oil and place on a burner on medium heat.

Remove the shells of the shrimp by pinching the tail with your thumb and forefinger. Gently pull the tail. Throw out the shell.

Wash the shrimp off, then put them in the plastic bag with the flour. Zip the bag shut and shake. Put the shrimp in the oil once the oil is hot.

Fry the shrimp until they turn golden brown. Put paper towels on a plate. Remove cooked shrimp with a slotted spoon. Let the excess oil drip off the shrimp before put the shrimp on the plate.

Tips & Warnings
Serve with coleslaw, french fries or green vegetables. Oil contains fat, but to keep from eating too much fat, use extra virgin olive oil. Letting a paper towel soak up the grease also removes the fat content and greasy taste.
Oil can burn when hot or cause a fire when hitting a flame. Be careful.
