Things You'll Need:
- A three ring binder
- Clear plastic report sheets
- Tab dividers
-
Step 1
Buy the needed supplies including a binder of your choice, plastic report covers, and tabs to separate the coupons. The plastic sheets used for baseball cards are also helpful to organize coupons, but can be difficult to find.
-
Step 2
Gather all coupons in the household. If just starting a coupon collection, search online for a product you use often and add the word coupon after the product in the search string.
-
Step 3
Group the coupons in a way that logically makes sense to you. Some people organize coupons according to expiration date. Others group them to coordinate with aisles in the grocery store. For example, all the coupons for frozen foods would go together.
-
Step 4
Write a tab label for each organizational category and place the tab separator in the binder.
-
Step 5
Add coupons in each section by placing them in the plastic report covers.
-
Step 6
Check often to throw away expired coupons. You can also change your labels and sections as needed.
