Serve punch at your Halloween party, but not an appealing-to-the-eye punch. After all, Halloween is about all things creepy. This black punch with sticky blood dripping from the rim of the glass is an appropriate drink for witches, vampires, goblins and mummies. Okay, you can also serve this punch to the princesses, fairies, kitties, etc.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 quarts water
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 package unsweetened grape drink mix
  • 1 package unsweetened orange drink mix
  • 1 liter ginger ale
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • red food coloring
  1. Step 1

Pour into a punch bowl, 3 quarts of water; add 2 cups granulated sugar; stir to dissolve. Add 1 package grape (unsweetened) drink mix and 1 package orange (unsweetened) drink mix; stir. Place black punch in refrigerator until ready to serve.

  2. Step 2

Make the sticky blood: Mix in a small bowl, 1/2 cup light corn syrup and a few drops red food coloring; stir well. If the blood isn't red enough, add a couple more drops of food coloring. Transfer to a plate.

  3. Step 3

Before serving, pour slowly 1 liter ginger ale into the punch.
Dip the rims of the cocktail glasses into the prepared sticky blood, then pour black punch into the glasses.

on 10/16/2009 There is just a tiny bit of dripping part-way down the glass and on the lips (where it should be).
