Step 1
1. Shift your mindset from employee to entrepreneur. Most of us do not have that mindset, or we would already be millionaires. You do this first through "Books-- you do that by surrounding yourself by people who are already entrepreneurs. I have been lucky enough to be surrounded by entrepreneurs since 2005 and multi-millionaires-- this has assisted me in understanding how multi-millionaires work-- I have the ability to pick up the phone and call one. Everyone knows a multi-millionaire-- they are at your library," said Cedrick Harris, who previously had a Direct Sales team that he built offline through traditional methods. Harris recognized the value of building a team online, and pursued marketing himself on the internet.
Harris stressed the importance of surrounding yourself with those who have what you want, rather than those who have what you already have. He advocates DVD's, books, and audio CD's to change your mindset to that of a millionaire. -
Step 2
You must find a good online marketing system that provides training and support. Jumping into Network Marketing without any knowledge of marketing is equivalent to becoming a doctor without attending medical school. You are destined to fail. We can argue that the high failure rate in Network Marketing and Direct Sales can be attributed to lack of proper marketing training.
A good system will include videos that guide you step by step through setting up the system, and will include in depth training on the various forms of marketing. You also should look for a system which provides you with a sponsor to guide you and get you started, and on the path to success. -
Step 3
Make sure you are representing a reputable Network Marketing or Direct Sales Company that will allow you to build long-term, residual income. "Don't touch anything less than 2 years old-- no prelaunch. The whole internet in pre launch. 85% go out of business in their first two years. Lots of new companies look OK, and pay out OK initially. If there were 100 lanes on ground-- only 15 would reach their destination. Good luck, happy travels. How would you feel riding that plane?" Harris explained. You must also consider the corporate structure. Do those calling the shots have Network Marketing experience, and understand how network marketing works? Look carefully at the product-- is it in demand? Do people want this? A consumable product is a huge plus, and encourages repeat sales and residual income. Also consider the timing of company Momentum generally occurs between years 2-3 and between years 7-8.

Expect that this is going to take some time. Network marketing is not a get rich quick scheme, but rather building a business, which takes daily effort, consistency, and perseverance. Although you will be overpaid in the beginning, if you continue to persevere, you will be overpaid at the end and can reap the benefits of the work you put in today.
