The only true way to stop plagiarism is don't do it. With all the written text out there it can be difficult sometimes to keep track of your words and the words you read during your research.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use your own words. This is easier said then done sometimes when we used all the same words to describe the same topic. You can however, write on how you see a topic based on your research.

  2. Step 2

Give credit to the source. When in doubt always cite where you got the information. Doing so won't make you look any less of an expert, in fact it will give more creditability to your work. It shows you really did do your research.

  3. Step 3

Check your article for plagiarism. Go to http://www.duplichecker.com or www.articlechecker.com. Both of these article checkers will return speedy results as to whether the information in your articles are already in other locations on the web.

Tips & Warnings
  • Plagiarism is a stealing. Don't do it.
