Subscriber Identity Modules pass your information to the mobile phone of your choice. Adding your SIM card to the HTC Hero identifies your number and information to the device for use with the carrier configured in the card. Use this process when traveling abroad to install the SIM card of a local provider or if you switch carriers. Adding the SIM card is the only step required to complete the transfer.

Turn the HTC Hero off. Turn the phone over and push the bottom cover to remove it. Lift the cover away from the phone.
Open the battery compartment. Pull the red release to lift the battery out of the phone.
Push down gently to eject the SIM card from the slot. To install a new SIM card, insert the SIM card with the gold contacts facing down. The "cut off" corner of the SIM card should be facing out of the card slot.

- Use this process any time you need to swap out SIM cards.
