Many people, regardless of age, struggle with dark spots that result from acne. If you struggle with dark spots, don't lose hope. There are actually several steps you can take to avoid further breakouts and treat existing spots. It's actually much easier than you might think.
Things You'll Need
- Rubbing alcohol or other astringent
- Deep-cleaning soap.
- Wash cloth
- Vitamin E capsules or vitamin E lotion
Scrub your face with deep-cleaning soap to remove excess dirt and oil. This prevents further breakouts and subsequent dark spots.
Wipe a thin layer of alcohol on your face at least once a day. Astringent dries up existing acne and prevents further breakouts by eliminating excess oil.
Apply the liquid gel from a vitamin e capsule or lotion to any particularly noticeable dark spots on your face. Let the vitamin E absorb into your skin completely, for at least half an hour (preferably an hour).
Repeat this process daily. The vividness of your dark spots will decrease within a couple of weeks. Continue to apply the vitamin E to affected areas for at least two weeks, though it may take up to a month to attain the best results.
Tips & Warnings
- Don't waste your time and money on expensive scar treatment products. They're often not nearly as effective as advertised. Avoid products that claim to fill in pockmarks. Again, they are quite expensive and don't really accomplish their intended purpose.
