Step 1
Go to an online sales website such as ebay.com and register for a new account. Click on the "Register" button, complete the form and click the "Continue" button to become a registered member.

Sign in with your new login and password by clicking on the "Sign In" link. If an ad appears, click on the "Continue to my original destination" button to proceed.

Review the "Getting Started" section to learn about how to set up your account to become a seller online. You'll need to verify your identity to eBay with your credit card information, checking account or the ID verify service. Tell eBay how you'll pay your seller listing fees and which payment methods you'll accept from buyers.

Search for similar items sold on eBay before listing your item for competitive research. Click on the "Advanced Search" link at the top of the page. Enter your keywords, select the "Completed listings" check box and click the "Search" button. This will help you find the best category and price for your item based on your competition.

Click on the "Sell" button at the top of the page, then click on the "Start selling" button to sell products online. Type in a keyword description for your item, and click "Search" to find the right category. Check one or more categories, and click "Continue."

Choose a listing form. Start with the "Keep it simple" option on the right, and click "Go." Complete the 5-step form to fill out your online sales ad, including a description, a photo, item specifics, detailed item description, price and shipping, and which payment method or methods you'll accept.

Click "Save and preview." Carefully proofread your ad, making changes if needed. If satisfied, click "Continue" to publish your listing.

Monitor your results and any buyer questions. Confirm payment and deliver the product as promised, then solicit feedback.
